Tärnaby Hillcross April 2009

The final veteran event of the season ... well, the snow season anyway :-) Around 35 sleds made it to Tärnaby, which is a long way from anywhere, to compete in a hillcross event on the evening of Valborg. The sun shone, the sky was blue, the snow was slushy and the day was not without drama, though as far as I am aware, those involved in the two accidents are OK. Had a slightly close call myself as you will see from the last 6 pics ;-) There are two long series of pics amongst the collection here, I don't usually show a whole series even if the pics turn out OK, but on these two occasions I chose to because I wanted to document what happened. The first one shows a guy narowly avoiding tipping over, and the second shows a "coming together" which sent two riders either side of me in a desperate bid to get back on track ;-) Oh yes, and picture 20 is not very good but it does illustrate what happens when a snowmobile mows over a marker post ;-) All pics taken with Richards D80.
