The Poker Run is an event for speed boats, whether recreational or competition level. The idea is to travel to various check points around the area, and collect a playing card from each point. This is not timed but competitors must collect cards from all points in order to compete in the evenings poker game, which decides the overall winner. 10 vessels started, of which one was a water ski, but only 4 made it round the course ... apparently it was very rough going out at sea due to the high winds. Anyway, nice to take some pics of the few that did pass by on their way to the final check point, and I also took some pics of other sea going vessels that I happened to see. This led me to the conclusion that I need a 150 - 500mm lens ... BTW, it's not snowing in some of the pictures, it's just large scale pollen from the surrounding trees ... Most pics taken with Richard's D80, some taken with the *ist DL.
