Drifting Storuman May 09

This was the first time I had visited a drifting event, and if I am not wrong, it is also the most northern event of it's kind to be held in Sweden. There were about 8 competitors who took turns sliding their way around the course which was laid out around a 90 degree section of a runway at Storuman/Gunnarn airport. After qualifiying there was also a burnout show, which entertained the many visitors with plumes of smoke, leaking radiators, lots of burnt rubber and of course a couple of blown tyres. The sun was not at its most helpful here either, and my efforts to compensate for that with the flash failed miserably ... All pics taken with Richard's D80.
