This was a new event for this year, in conjunction with Umeå Motorweek, and the first time I had taken pics of boats. My borrowed Tamron lens only reaches to 200mm and is a bit soft at the limit so I maybe should have had the Pentax and thus the Sigma 70-300 but on the other hand the Nikon is better and faster at focusing at distance. It was nice to see some boats close up and look at all the detail, I really know nothing about them at all, so it was cool to take pics of something a bit different. Pics 3, 4 and 5 are of a boat with a V8 engine, it certainly moved well and there was no question of missing it once the engine had been started! All pics taken with Richard's D80.
